The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Sunday called for a rare emergency special session of the 193 member-strong UN General Assembly (UNGA) after a deadlock in its last meeting on Friday due to Russia’s veto. Speaking at the heated UNSC meet, the US said that the world will not let Russia’s atrocities slide. Lamenting Russia’s veto of Friday’s resolution, the US said ‘Russia cannot veto our accountability’.
