Russian tanks, artillery and military vehicles that have been crossing Ukraine's borders for days now are marked with a series of symbols drawn in white paint. These symbols range from letters to geometric figures and even combinations of the two. In fact, more than ten different combinations have been seen on the bodies, both front and sides, of these war vehicles. But what do they mean? Since the Ukraine war began 13 days ago, these vehicles are roaming around near Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities sporting a 'Z' marking painted on their sides. Social media is full of the images of the white emblem, stylized in a thick brushstroke. Many protesters, particularly those supporting Russia, have been found wearing them on t-shirts too.
