Ramadan Mubarak 2022: Date, sehri, and iftar timings
and importance
Here is all you need to know about the date, sehri, importance and iftar timings of Ramadan Mubarak 2022
The time of fasting depends on
the sighting of the crescent moon, which involves fasting, prayer, reflection,
giving back in the form of charity, and engaging in humanitarian activities. On
this occasion, people all over India perform a fast known as Roza with their
family and friends. The festival continues from 29-30 days and ends with
Eid-ul-Fitr.
The
word Ramadan is derived from the Arabic word 'ar-ramad', which means scorching
heat. It is considered that this time angel Gabriel revealed the words of the
Quran to Muhammad. The fast is done as the most priority to the spiritual
purification of an individual.
The
holy month of Ramadan is observed for four weeks and two days.
During
this period, the adult Muslims fast except for people suffering from diseases
and illnesses, along with a pregnant and menstruating woman.
People
during this time stay away from sinful activities and prefer to be in prayer
most of the time.
Before the fast, they have the Sehri, which is the predawn meal consumed prior to the morning prayer Fajr.
Next, when breaking the fast,
when the feast is called, Iftar is made for the nightly meal that breaks the
fast after evening prayer, Maghrib.

RAMADAN MUBARAK 2022: IMPORTANCE
Muslims
believe this festival is important to grow spiritually and become closer to their
dear ones and Allah.
They
continue this fast by blocking all the pleasures in life like smoking,
drinking, and sexual intercourse between sunrise and sunset.
The
time is considered as unity and spiritual reflection where Muslim people spend
time praying, reciting poems, and doing good work.
