A security alert was issued in Bodh Gaya on Thursday morning amid a visit by the Dalai Lama, with the police searching for the Chinese woman.
By LAKSHY DREAM FOUNDATION GLOBAL NEWS: A Chinese woman, who was suspected of spying on Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, was detained by the Bihar Police on Thursday. This followed after a security alert was issued in Bodh Gaya in Bihar this morning amid a visit by the Dalai Lama, with the police searching for the Chinese woman.
The woman, identified as Song Xiaolam, was picked up by the police from outside Kalchakra ground where the Dalai Lama offers spiritual discourses.
According to sources, the woman is a divorcee and has two children. Song came to India in 2019 before going back to China. She again came to India, left for Nepal for a few days, and then came to Bodh Gaya in Bihar.
The Bihar Police had earlier released a sketch of the woman after a security alert was issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) over an alleged threat to the Dalai Lama.
Apart from a sketch of the woman, the police had also shared her passport and visa details with the press.
