Trinamool MP interrupts Amit Shah in Lok Sabha. What happened next | Watch

The Home Minister was talking about the drug menace in the country.

By LAKSHY DREAM FOUNDATION GLOBAL NEWS  Web Desk: Amit Shah, speaking in the Lok Sabha on the issue of drug abuse in the country, shot down Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy, who tried to interrupt his speech.

“Dada, if you want to give a speech, I will sit down. You can speak. Being such a senior MP, such interruptions are unbecoming of your position and seniority,” Amit Shah said, as his party colleagues cheered him.

When the Speaker, Om Birla, urged the Home Minister to continue, he said: “Such things should not happen. Understand the seriousness of the matter (being discussed).”

“Why do you get angry?” shot back Roy, to which Amit Shah said, “I don’t get angry. I try to make people understand. Sometimes the elders must be made to see things.”

The Home Minister then went on to talk about the drug menace in the country, saying that the battle against drugs was delicately poised. He urged states to fight the menace together with the central government, keeping politics aside.

“Drug addicts must be treated as victims and we must ensure their rehabilitation,” the minister said.
