A ruckus broke out in Lok Sabha on Tuesday after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra used an 'offensive' word on the floor of the House during the ongoing Budget Session. Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised strong objections to Mahua Moitra's remark and sought an apology from her.
Mahua Moitra's abusive rant was recorded on a microphone while she was speaking in the midst of TDP leader K Ram Mohan Naidu's speech in the Lok Sabha.
"Nothing will be going on record. Some very harsh and offensive words have been used. I would ask the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to talk to the party (TMC)," Bhartruhari Mahtab, standing in for Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, said.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi said he would speak to the TMC party leader in Lok Sabha. "I would ask them to apologise but if she doesn't, then it's their culture," Joshi said.
Mahua Moitra used the offensive word soon after her speech in the Lower House. During her speech, the TMC leader slammed the Centre over the Adani Group share rout and also asked why the markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had been a “silent operator”.
She also raised questions about why the recent Adani Group FPO was approved without completing an investigation report.

The Krishnanagar MP concluded her speech by demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities in Adani Group.
Several opposition parties decided to participate in parliamentary proceedings after three days of logjam in both Houses over the fraud allegations against the Adani Group.
Stocks of the energy-to-ports conglomerate have taken a beating in the share market soon after US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research made a litany of allegations against it, including fraudulent transactions and share price manipulation.
The Opposition has been demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe or a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the allegations. Proceedings in both Houses of Parliament have been paralysed for the last three days with the Opposition demanding a discussion on the issue.
Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned in the afternoon after disruption over the Adani row. Notices of suspension in the Rajya Sabha and the adjournment notice in the Lok Sabha were rejected by the respective presiding officers and the opposition took objection to it.
