 Fire breaks out at furniture shop in Delhi's Kirti Nagar, 17 fire tenders present

A fire broke out at a furniture shop in Delhi's Kirti Nagar at around 6.30 pm. As many as 17 fire tenders rushed to the spot.


A fire broke out on the third floor of a furniture shop in Delhi's Kirti Nagar on Monday. The incident took place at around 6.30 pm, the police said.

Upon information, around 17 fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames. However, the flames spread to two adjacent showrooms, causing extensive damage and resulting in losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.

The Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO) who returned from the scene reported that the fire had spread across all three showrooms - Durian Furniture, Godrej Script, and Mibasa Furniture.

At Durian Furniture, the fire started on the third floor, rapidly consuming the furniture, sign boards, and office space. The situation was the same at Godrej Script and Mibasa Furniture, where the flames had taken over the furniture and sign boards across all floors.

Each of these buildings is structured with a basement, ground floor, and three additional storeys, covering an area of 350 square yards each.

No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.

Further investigations are underway to determine the origin of the fire accident.
