Indian-origin man stabbed at US gym, accused says he found him 'little weird'

An Indian-origin man was stabbed in Indiana on Sunday. The accused told the police that he found the man “a little weird” and “a threat”.

A 24-year-old Indian-origin man was stabbed at a gym in Valparaiso, Indiana, on Sunday morning. The assault left the man in a critical condition, as per local media reports.

The police have arrested Jordan Andrade (24) in connection with the attack.

Jordan Andrade, a resident of Porter Township, revealed that he did not have any prior communication with the victim before the attack. However, he said "someone" had told him the man was threatening, the police told NWITimes.

Andrade is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

At around 9 am on Sunday morning, the police received a call about a man being stabbed at the gym. When they reached the spot, they learned that the victim was found seated on a massage chair with a head injury. The police found a large amount of blood on the massage chair. The police also recovered a folding knife from the room. The knife reportedly belonged to Andrade.

Andrade told the police that he had walked into the massage room on Sunday morning and saw a man there. He did not know the man, but found him "a little weird", the police said.

The accused described Varun as "a threat" and told police that he "just reacted". Andrade pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed him.
