The ball boy received massive praise from the LSG fielding coach Jonty Rhodes who was a gun-fielder during his playing days as well.
While the Lucknow Super Giants might not be the happiest camp following the home game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, one of the ball boys had his moment in the spotlight during the second innings of the match.
Having to chase down a mammoth target of 236, KL Rahul’s side was dented early on when the impact substitute, Arshin Kulkarni who was out in the middle to open the innings along with the skipper, was dismissed cheaply yet again.
However, Marcus Stoinis, coming in at number three looked to take advantage of the field restrictions within the powerplay when he upper-cut a shorter delivery by Vaibhav Arora over the third-man boundary ropes.

In the commentary, former India coach, Ravi Shastri along with the current fielding coach of the home side, who is a legend with a reputation of being a gun-fielder during his playing days, the former South African international, Jonty Rhodes also applauded the efforts of the young man.
However, the home side was outplayed by the Knight Riders who secured the win by a massive margin of 98 runs. Sunil Narine set the tone in the first innings when he scored a quickfire 81 to help the side set a massive target which is also a record total at the venue as well.

LSG’s batting never seemed to find their groove as they kept losing wickets on a regular basis. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy were the pick of the bowlers with three wickets each.
Stoinis’s quick knock of 36 was the best score by the LSG batters which sums up how poor the batting display was the loss by a big margin would affect their net run rate which in turn would affect their chances of making it into the playoffs for three consecutive seasons in a row.
