PM Narendra Modi reached the Kashi Vishwanath temple and offered prayers along with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, after a grand 6-km roadshow in Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, a day before he is to file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from his constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath was also present during the prayer ceremony at the famous temple, where their grand 6-km roadshow ended earlier in the evening. Taking to X, the prime minister said Kashi is “special” because of the “unbelievable” warmth and affection of the people.
Prime Minister Modi is seeking a third consecutive term from Varanasi, which will go to polls on June 1 in the seventh and final phase. He garlanded a statue of educationist and social reformer Madan Mohan Malviya at the Malviya Chauraha in the Lanka area before beginning the roadshow.
The roadshow passed through Sant Ravidas Gate, Assi, Shivala, Sonarpura, Jangambadi, Godaulia. According to BJP sources, the PM will be staying the night at the BLW guesthouse.
He will reach the guesthouse from Vishwanath Dham after his convoy passes through Maidagin Chauraha, Kabirchaura, Lahurabir, Teliabagh Tiraha, Chowkaghat Chauraha, Lakdi Mandi, Cantt Overbridge, Lahartara Chauraha, Manduwadih Chauraha and Kakarmatta Overbridge areas.
