NAIROBI, Kenya

Nov 27 – President William Ruto says his government is focused on service delivery and will not be distracted by those in the opposition.

Speaking during the Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) Karen- Silver Jubilee Celebration Service, President Ruto stated that the Kenya Kwanza administration is keen on fulfilling its pre-election pledges to Kenyans.

The head of state intimated that his government would not lock out the opposition from State affairs but would allow them to perform their oversight role

“My deputy has said there is a bit of noise, but you know everybody is doing their job. I think the opposition is doing their job, as executive we will do our job, the judiciary will equally do their job. But as the Bible says, all works well for the good of those who trust in Jesus, I am sure that all these will work well,” he said.

The head of state further ironically referred to the Bible when the walls of Jerusalem were being rebuilt in the presence of Sanballat as the chief opponent of the Jewish governor Nehemiah.

He urged all government officials to remain focused towards ensuring efficient service delivery to the people of Kenya.

“The building of the wall by Nehemiah continued even as Sanballat and Tobias were talking. So, never mind Sanballat let us focus,” he added.

This came days after Azimio-led faction Raila Odinga termed the ongoing petition before the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) of the National Assembly on the removal of four commissioners at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as a political witch-hunt.

Odinga told Journalists Thursday in Nairobi that the ongoing probe is a revenge mission by President William Ruto’s led administration against dissenting IEBC Deputy Chairperson Juliana Cherera and commissioners Francis Mathenge, Irene Masit, and Justus Nyang’aya for expressing reservations over the process that saw Ruto as Kenya’s 5th President.

He also claimed that the petition was being steamrolled by the Speakers of both the two houses of the National Assembly and the Senate and President Ruto.
