Well, for an appearance at the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston on Friday, she looked uber-chic in a bright green rented gown with a knee-high slit. What was special about her look was the accessory she chose to add some glam to her outfit. Middleton actually wore Princess Diana's iconic emerald and diamond choker with matching earrings.
Kate Middleton paired the stunning piece with a green dress like Diana. The off-shoulder number featured a knee-high slit and she styled it with shimmery pumps. The full-sleeved piece complemented her perfectly. According to People, Kate rented the Space London gown from HURR, a rental platform in the UK for designer dresses.
Kate also wore matching earrings to accessorise her outfit further. For her makeup, she opted for a hint of brown eyeshadow, lots of mascara, blush and pink lipstick with gloss.
The piece wasn't worn by anyone other than Diana. She wore the necklace first as a headband in 1985 during her tour of Australia with Prince Charles. Moreover, she wore it simply as a choker in 1993. As a headgear, Diana wore it with a satin one-shoulder gown.
According to People, Diana wore the necklace as a headgear by accident. Instead of clasping it around her neck, she tried to fit the piece over her head. Royal biographer Kitty Kelley said that the choker stuck and Diana liked it that way.
Meanwhile, the choker was gifted to Queen Mary by the Ladies of India in 1911. It was then given to Princess Diana by Queen Elizabeth after her wedding to Prince Charles.
