One of the most important occasions in the Islamic calendar is Eid al Adha, which is observed by millions of Muslims around the world. The celebration of Eid-al-Adha marks the end of the hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca and its neighbouring sites. Selected Muslims from throughout the world come to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to perform the hajj every year during the last month of the Islamic calendar, known as Dhul Hijjah. One of Islam's five pillars, the hajj is among the top five activities a practising Muslim should undertake in order to establish a relationship with God.

Every Muslim who has the financial means to cover the associated travel costs is required to perform the Hajj. The hajj itself consists of a number of customs that were established by the prophets Abraham and Ismail. Muslims hold that Abraham constructed the first house of worship for God to be worshipped in a monotheistic manner as directed by God.

The Kaaba is the building in Mecca. The hajj pilgrimage includes a number of rituals, such as walking or jogging seven times between the Safa and Marwa mountains and seven anticlockwise loops around the Kaaba. The Hajj pilgrimage's most significant rite is standing in the Arafat plain, a wide open area outside of Mecca. From dawn until shortly before dusk, pilgrims stand on the plain, praising God for whatever they may have in mind. The ritual at Arafat is followed immediately by Eid al Adha, which customarily involves the sacrifice of a sheep or a ram. On this sacred occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, may your faith and devotion be rewarded abundantly. May Allah bless you with peace, prosperity, and happiness. Eid Mubarak!

As we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, let us remember the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness. May your sacrifices be accepted, and may you be blessed with abundant blessings. Eid Mubarak!
