Ogie reveals Regine underwent voice treatment ahead of concert

Ogie Alcasid praises Regine Velasquez as a “fantastic ♥️ storyteller.”

Ogie Alcasid on wife Regine Velasquez: “Ang kanyang ace is she’s a fantastic storyteller. So, when she sings, nararamdaman mo yung sinasabi niya when she’s whispering, when she’s singing loud, singing high. But now, it’s still there, but it has more purpose."

Nag-alangang magsalita si Ogie Alcasid tungkol sa “voice treatment” sa misis niyang si Regine Velasquez dahil baka magalit daw ang Asia's Songbird.

Pero nagbigay pa rin siya ng ilang detalye tungkol sa resulta ng pagpapagamot ng kanyang asawa.

“Baka pagalitan niya ako, e. I think she should talk about it herself.

"But we went somewhere and ang galing ng doctor. She was fixed.

"It just comes with age. When we get older, our voices change.

"Like ako, hindi ko na naaabot yung mga naaabot ko nung bata ako,” limitado at maingat na kuwento ni Ogie.

Nakausap ng entertainment writers si Ogie sa media conference ng Daddyokie, ang Father’s Day concert niya na itatanghal sa Hunyo 19 at 20, 2026 sa Proscenium Theater, Makati City.

Napag-usapan si Regine dahil tinanong si Ogie tungkol sa mga paghahandang ginagawa ng asawa niya para sa Finale, ang sinasbaing final major solo concert ng Asia’s Songbird sa Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, sa Oktubre 17 at Oktubre 18, 2026.

“Ako kasi, bilang trainer niya, sabi ko, 'O, maglalakad na tayo. Mag-gym na tayo,'” sabi ni Ogie

“At the same time, I’m so happy kasi her voice is now really good. We sought some treatment and it worked for her, which is good.

“Leading to the concert, she’s super excited. Ang gaganda ng mga plano nila ni Cacai [Mitra, Regine’s sister].

"But at the same time, meron siyang ginagawang album. Pinapakinggan namin araw-araw, grabe, ang gaganda ng mga kanta.

“Yung little bakla inside me, parang, 'Ay, gondoh!'

"Ang galing! Ang ganda nung timing ng mga gagawin niya.

"And I’m glad that she’s taking the time to really focus…”

OGIE PRAISES REGINE AS A "FANTASTIC STORYTELLER"

May pagmamalaki ang boses ni Ogie nang sabihin nitong dapat abangan ang Finale concert ni Regine dahil tiyak na panalong-panalo ito.

Ibinida rin niya ang pagiging "fantastic storyteller" ni Regine bilang mang-aawit dahil punumpuno ng emosyon ang pagkanta ng misis niya.

“We sing differently now dahil meron nang poot, may lalim and I keep telling her that.

“Iba na yung, obviously, when you’re younger, you were able to sing as high as you could. Now, you have a voice that has so much emotion.

“People could already tell sobrang daming experience nitong tao.

“Ang kanyang ace is she’s a fantastic storyteller.

"So, when she sings, nararamdaman mo yung sinasabi niya when she’s whispering, when she’s singing loud, singing high.

“But now, it’s still there, but it has more purpose.

"So, naku, abangan ninyo yung concert niya."
